Tour Details

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a region in Peru that sits between Cusco and Machu Picchu. It was an important part of the Inca Empire and served as an agricultural center for them, providing food to support their population.

The valley is known for its stunning natural beauty, with snow-capped mountains, lush green landscapes, and winding rivers cutting through it all. In addition to its beauty, the Sacred Valley has many ancient ruins such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo which offer insight into how the Inca civilization functioned hundreds of years ago. This area also provides visitors with access to traditional villages where locals still practice pre-Columbian customs like weaving textiles or farming according to ancient methods.

Today, tourism plays a major role in the economy of this region due to its proximity to Machu Picchu and other popular attractions nearby. Visitors can explore archaeological sites on guided tours, or take part in outdoor activities such as trekking or mountain biking around the valley’s breathtaking scenery. Whether you’re looking for a cultural experience or simply want some time away from city life, there are plenty of things to do in this special place that will make your stay unforgettable!

Full DaySacred Valley of Incas

Chinchero

We will collect you from your Cusco hotel at 8:30 am, and then make our way to the town of Chinchero. The most noteworthy feature of Chinchero is the colonial-style church that was constructed on top of an Inca palace. The church’s walls are adorned with frescoes that were created during the colonial era.

This small town is also famous for its beautiful textiles, handcrafted by the local communities. These artisans utilize classic techniques and natural pigments to produce vivid hues, with many of their patterns stemming from Inca folklore.

Ollantaytambo

Following our exploration of Chinchero, we will stop by the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo. It is thought that these ruins were constructed in the mid-15th century under the command of Pachacuti, one of the most powerful Inca emperors.

The town, situated at the foot of two towering mountains and encompassed by sloping hillsides and deep valleys, has become famous for its well-maintained Incan ruins – some of the most intact in the world.

Urubamba

Following our visit to Ollantaytambo, we shall partake in a buffet lunch at Urubamba.

Pisac

After lunch, we will be paying a visit to Pisac. This town is renowned for its gorgeous vistas, Inca remains and bustling markets. Located at the foot of the Andes Mountains, it is encircled by sloping hillsides and lush farmland.

Pisac’s main draw is the ruins of a former Inca city situated high on a hill above the town. These ruins are thought to have been erected by the Incas for religious and ceremonial purposes, boasting an impressive temple complex and various other structures.

We will travel back to Cusco in our own private vehicle after exploring Pisac. We will arrive at Cusco around 6:00 pm.

Solo Traveller

I recently visited the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and it was absolutely stunning! The mix of breathtaking landscapes, ancient ruins, and vibrant local culture made it an unforgettable experience. The highlights for me were exploring Pisac and Ollantaytambo—so much history in every corner! The locals were warm and welcoming, and the fresh mountain air made it feel like a peaceful retreat. Definitely recommend it if you’re into history and nature!
